Bob Barker, The Price Is Right Host, Returns to TV at 90; Bob Barker Will Bring Animal Rescue Arc to The Bold and The Beautiful; Price Is Right Hasn’t Always Lived Up to Barker’s Expectations

Bob Barker is returning to TV. The 90-year-old former The Price Is Right host landed a guest-starring part on "The Bold and the Beautiful."

The former game show host has spent most of his post-Price Is Right career as an animal activist. Bob Barker too the role on the daytime series 'The Bold and the Beautiful' because of his love of animals. Barker will appear as himself on "The Bold and the Beautiful."

Bob Barker will be interviewed by Liam Spencer, who is played by series regular Scott Clifton, for a feature article on control of the pet population.

Bob Barker has devoted a substantial amount of his life to making the world better for animals. For 35 years Barker signed off CBS' "The Price is Right" with the words, "Help control the pet population. Have your pet spayed or neutered."

But The Price is Right hasn't always lived up to Bob Barker's commitment since his departure. Barker told the media "I don't know why I wasn't asked to take part [in the 40th anniversary] in some way... But I do know I am ashamed of the show and surprised at their complete disregard for the welfare of animals. Were I still there, a prize to attend the Calgary Stampede would never have been considered. We never did anything that condoned animal cruelty. Apparently, things have changed."

Barker will be part of a three-day story arc about animal rescue on the long-running CBS soap.
