Oscar winner George Clooney, 52, is engaged to British human rights lawyer Amal Alamuddin, 36, whom he began dating last fall. George Clooney and his girlfriend have been spotted together in London, New York, Tanzania and the Seychelles, USA Today reports.

Alamuddin was rocking a diamond ring on her left ring finger when the two met Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber for dinner Thursday in Malibu, California.

The engagement happened "not that long ago, I think," the source added.

Clooney has been married once before, to actress Talia Balsam, from 1989 to 1993, but since then hasn't settled down with any one woman in particular. Clooney was known for dating a string of women every couple of years, most recently Italian actress Elisabetta Canalis (2009-2011) and former WWE personality Stacy Keibler (2011-2013), USA Today reports.

"I haven't had aspirations in that way, ever," George Clooney told Esquire of marriage in December 2013. "I was married in 1989. I wasn't very good at it."
