They might be deemed as one of Tinseltown's most good-looking couples but after five years, Adriana Lima and husband Marko Jaric opted to call it quits. In 2009, the Victoria's Secret Angel and the NBA star eloped and secretly married on Valentine's day in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

Despite Adriana Lima and husband Marko Jaric's separation, the two will continue to see each other for the welfare of their two daughters who are now being raised in Miami: Valentine, four, and Sienna, 19 months.

Adriana Lima and husband Marko Jaric released a joint statement to People magazine's website regarding their separation: "After long and careful consideration, we have decided to separate after five years of marriage."

"We are grateful to be the parents of two incredible young daughters that we will continue to co-parent. We would greatly appreciate your respect for our family's privacy as we begin this delicate next chapter for all members of our family," the statement continued.

The whole family is likewise requesting for privacy as they begin the "delicate next chapter" of their lives. It is yet unknown who will move out of their marital home.

The couple first met in 2006 and previously, the Brazilian beauty described her marriage as an ongoing "honeymoon": "Our life, we live in a honeymoon. I never saw myself being married. But after I met him, everything changed. I knew he was the one and I could see myself married with him and with a big family."

No reason for the separation has been cited though rumors are circulating that Adriana Lima's husband Marko Jaric cheated on her.

The couple likewise made news when they tied the knot for the 32-year-old supermodel waited and held on to her virginity until marriage .

"Whatever makes you comfortable. Just follow your values," she told Huffington Post in September 2013 while thanking her 35-year-old then-husband for honoring her beliefs.
