On Sunday, May 4, "Star Wars Episode 7" director J.J. Abrams and script writer Lawrence Kasdan posted a short video for fans on "Star Wars" day (chosen becuase of the pun, "May the Fourth be with you"), in which Abrams hinted that more casting news was on its way, The National Post reports.

"We are desperately missing our families back in California," Abrams said in the video, shot in London, where "Star Wars Episode 7" production is taking place. "So as casting announcements continue and as production ramps up, we would like to wish you a very happy Star Wars Day."

This is great news for "Star Wars" fans because this means more casting news is sure to come in the near future!

"Star Wars Episode 7" made its first official casting announcement on April 29, with original trilogy stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford (who played Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia and Han Solo, respectively) confirmed to appear in the upcoming film, the National Post reports.

"Star Wars" casting newcomers include John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow in "Episode 7."

Hamill tweeted his support of the recently announced "Star Wars: Episode VII" cast on Thursday: "I was knocked out by the diverse & extraordinarily talented new cast members," Hamill posted on Twitter about a UK table read. "WOW they're good! The saga is in superb hands."

"Star Wars Episode 7" will release December 18, 2015.
