Minor has surrendered three homers in two Major League outings this season after giving up four long balls on a windy night in Pensacola, Fla., in his final rehab start in late April before rejoining Atlanta's rotation, according to MLB.com.

"The balls I've been throwing middle of the plate have been home runs. I don't know if there has been one guy who has mis-hit it," Minor said. "My first start when I gave up two home runs, the [Michael] Morse one, it was a bad pitch [but] he's just a big guy. But in the Cardinals game, when I gave up a home run to Peter Bourjos, it really made me mad. I'm not trying to take away from him being a good hitter. But I felt I was kind of giving in a little bit throwing a fastball over the middle of the plate and letting him hit it, instead of attacking him."San Francisco activated left-handed reliever David Huff (tight left quadriceps) from the disabled list prior to Monday night's 4-2 win against Atlanta. He experienced no issues when going through a simulated pitcher's fielding practice.

"Throwing, I have no problem doing," Huff said. "Running, I probably have to back off because the quad is a little tight, but that's how every strain goes. It's just a matter of maintaining and being smart. As long as I can throw, cover first base and field a bunt, that's all I need to be doing."

San Francisco's 11 games in May have been decided by two runs per contest.

"You get accustomed to playing this style of ball -- the guys have and I think they're better because of it," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "As I've said before, you have to learn that every pitch, every play, every at-bat counts in the game when you're playing as many close one-run games as we are. I think these guys are doing a good job of not drifting out there; they're keeping their focus and getting it done."
