‘Avengers 3’ Cast Rumors: Zac Efron To Join Marvel Universe! Willl He Play A New Character Or Is He The Next Iron Man?

The latest box-office twist had "Neighbors" trumping "The Amazing Spider Man 2" which raised a lot of eyebrows. Disney is closely observing their former young talent and how much he has grown.

Super Hero Movies were once infallible at the box office and "The Amazing Spider Man 2" is already a sequel (which tend to be more successful). Thus, the short run of topping the box office was a surprise.

While the lukewarm reception of the critics could be a factor, it is best to give credit where credit is due. Zac Efron is now a big star and he can now carry his own team.

Now, Latino Review has a scoop on a powerful combo-what if you had Zac Efron in a super hero movie?

The scoop by LR: "'Neighbors,' an R-Rated Zac Efron/Seth Rogen comedy, beat the crap out of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" at the box office and the mega franchising gods at Walt Disney heard the other foot drop: 'It's time to Efron up.'

We can exclusively report that Zac Efron is being looked at for unspecified role in an upcoming Marvel Studios project. He was given a script for the project just recently and currently no one knows which part is actually in play. The only one that knows that answer is his Manager and he will not comment on it."

Now, Latino Review is quick to admit that their scoop is both fact and speculation. The interest of Disney could be a fact-it's logical and Efron did start out with "High School Musical." The rest of the report suggested possibilities for his role.

The main speculation centered on playing Daredevil in the Netflix series or Doctor Strange in the movie.

It is doubtful that they would acquire Efron for a TV series. He is at his peak now, and Zac might not be able to commit to a full series. As for Doctor Strange, he might be too young for the character.

The angles are also present for Nova or Adam Warlock-characters linked with the cosmic Marvel-which include Guardians of the Galaxy and Thanos. But there's one very obvious angle that they had left out:

Zac Efron could become the next Iron Man.

Of course, there is only one, irreplaceable RDJ and it's still unknown how they will play it. Will he be a recast Tony Stark or a different character donning the armor?

"Avengers 3" is possibly RDJ's last appearance as Tony Stark/Iron Man and maybe even Chris Evans/Captain America. It could also serve as the movie where they pass the baton to the new, younger Avengers that will carry the franchise beyond 2018.

What do you think of Zac Efron as Iron Man?
