‘The Hobbit: The Battle Of Five Armies’ Ruined By CGI? ‘LOTR’ Cast Viggo Mortensen Not Interested To Do Cameo For Part 3 Of Peter Jackson’s Film

"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" is reportedly ruined by too much CGI as "Lord of the Rings" star Viggo Mortensen reiterated that he's not interested in doing a cameo for part 3 of Peter Jackson's film.

When interviewed by UK's Telegraph, Viggo Mortensen, who plays King Aragorn in the "LOTR" series, said that he liked Peter Jackson's work best when he worked in "The Fellowship of the Ring."

"There's Rivendell, and Mordor, but there's sort of an organic quality to it, actors acting with each other, and real landscapes; it's grittier. The second movie already started ballooning, for my taste, and then by the third one, there were a lot of special effects," he said.

He also doesn't care for Peter Jackson's new trilogy because of the CGI involved, which will only escalate in "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," as he likened the series to what happened in the second and third installment of the "Lord of the Rings."

"It was grandiose and all that, but whatever was subtle in the first movie, gradually got lost in the second and third. Now with 'The Hobbit,' one and two, it's like that to the power of 10."

Viggo Mortensen, however, doesn't blame Peter Jackson, which he called the "Ridley Scott" of his generation where there are too many people depending on him. However, he said that whatever "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" director is working on-because he is a geek at technology-"he's happy, I think," Viggo Mortensen said.

Viggo Mortensen also said he's not interested to join the cast of "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" and he's always been consistent in that regard.

In the middle of last year, he was interviewed by the Guardian where he revealed that he was approached whether he will be interested in appearing on "The Hobbit."

"I said, 'You do know, don't you, that Aragorn isn't in 'The Hobbit?' That there is a 60-year gap between the books?'" he said.
