Microsoft Surface Pro 3 Specs: New 12" Windows Device Is A Laptop In Tablet's Clothing, Packs Intel Haswell Chips, Dual 5MP Shooters

Microsoft Surface Pro 3 specs: Yesterday, Microsoft finally took off the wraps from its new Surface Pro tablet, and it certainly looks as sleek as ever.

Unlike previous generations of the Surface lineup, the Surface Pro 3 is expected to assert itself, not in the slate industry, but in the laptop category.

Its 12 inches of screen estate is certainly enough to replace 11 inchers out there. And at 2160 x 1440 resolution with an aspect ratio of 3:2, you can never go wrong.

in the report by several tech websites, the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 has retained most of the design of its predecessors, though it has been built to be thinner and lighter. At only 1.76lbs, it is even lighter than the already super portable MacBook Air.

Inside the hood lies an Intel Haswell chip that promises up to 9 hours of web browsing power, and that's certainly impressive given that this portable device would be taken to long trips, coffee shops, and even overnight study groups.

There are also a number of core options for the device, and at Core i3 paired with a 64GB internal memory, the Surface Pro 3's retail pricing begins at $799. Don't you worry about lack of storage as the Surface slate comes with a microSD card slot.

Also on board is 4GB of RAM which makes the device a full-pledged laptop replacement, Bluetooth 4.0 support, Wi-Fi, a 36W power supply, two 5MP cameras (one at the front and back) which can shoot 1080p videos, and a stylus for better interaction with the touch-enabled screen.

Like other Surface slates, the Surface Pro 3 comes with its own cover that doubles as a keyboard and stand.

In the report by GSM Arena, the device is already available for pre-order in the US and UK with the following details:
