"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" cast Sir Ian McKellen has no regrets about how his career has progressed now that he's approaching the twilight of his career. Meanwhile, co-star Richard Armitage released a "Hamlet" audio.

"I didn't expect it to be so enjoyable and fulfilling," he told South China Morning Post. "I'm a very happy actor."

Does "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" actor have any regrets outside of his professional work?

He said: "I wish I'd known when I was young that I was quite attractive. I don't think I was as outgoing as I could've been. All my regrets in that area were tied up with being gay and living at a time when it was illegal to be gay."

Sir Ian McKellen is set to return in the film "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," the final installment of Peter Jackson's latest opus based on the J.R.R Tolkien novel. The movie is set for release on December 17, 2014.

Meanwhile Audible, Inc. in a press statement revealed that it's set to release available for download an audiobook featuring "Hamlet, Prince of Denmark: A Novel." Written by A.J. Hartley and David Hewson specifically for the audio format, the book will be voiced by "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" actor Richard Armitage.

Richard Armitage said that he's worked with several stage productions of Shakespeare's work but working with both A.J. Hartley and David Hewson has been "just as thrilling an experience."

"Audio work like this reminds me of all the reasons I became an actor: the simple art of storytelling," he said, according to BusinessWire. "I hope this work for Audible delights both those who already love Shakespeare and perhaps brings a new audience to the story of Hamlet, and to the very personal and pure experience of simply listening."
