According to Enstarz, fans will finally get some answers to Ethan Chandler's (Josh Hartnett) mysterious past in America in "Penny Dreadful" episode 4, titled "Demimonde," which airs on Sunday, June 1 at 10:00 p.m. on Showtime.

Showtime's latest promo video shows Dr. Frankenstein asking Josh Hartnett's character Ethan Chandler to use his blood for an experiment.

"That's not a good idea - trust me," Chandler warns the doctor in an ominous tone, Fashion & Style reports.

Also, a scene in episode 1 featured Chandler waking up by the docks, feeling groggy and confused - another foreshadowing hint that he may be a werewolf, Enstarz speculates. That would also explain why Vanessa Ives, played by Eva Green, is so interested in him - after all, she is a medium drawn to unusual creatures in the Showtime series.

Movie News Guide reports that this weekend's new episode will also feature Dorian and Vanessa's relationship. Vanessa will continue to struggle with Dorian and may have to figure out if there's any way for the two of them to end up together.

The "Penny Dreadful" season 4 episode synopsis reads: "Vanessa's infatuation with Dorian Gray continues to grow. Meanwhile, Malcolm hires Van Helsing to work with Dr. Frankenstein to find a cure to the disease that may be affecting his daughter; and Fenton draws his master to Malcolm's mansion."
