‘Pirates Of The Caribbean 5’ [UPDATE]: Filming Of 'Dead Men Tell No Tales' Derailed After ‘The Brig Unicorn’ Ship Sinks? Cast Johnny Depp Gets Deal To Play Harry Houdini

The "Pirates of the Carribean 5" filming could be derailed even further as the "The Brig Unicorn," a ship featured prominently in the series, sunk in a freak accident off the coast of the Grenadines and St. Vincent Saturday. Cast Johnny Depp, meanwhile, is playing Harry Houdini in his next film.

According to MailOnline, the pirate ship-built in 1948 in Finland-was on its way for repairs when it sank. The captain and the nine-member crew escaped unharmed.

Fans of the "Pirates of the Carribean" series would recognize the sunk ship as The Henrietta in "The Curse of the Black Pearl" and the Terrasaw in "Dead Man's Chest" and "At World's End."

However, it's now being used as a floating bar and restaurant in St. Lucia, MailOnline reported.

The "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" might possibly begin production this fall according to Disney Chairman Alan Horn, after Johnny Depp's confirmation that the film has not been shelved.

"It's possible. We haven't seen a screenplay yet that I've been able to sign off on," he said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "There's a lot of variables that affect the final outcome once it leaves the studio lot, so we are very careful."

"Pirates of the Carribean 5" star Johnny Depp confirmed that he's working with the screenwriter for the script of "Dead Men Tell no Tales" in order come up with a story that will "end on a high note."

In an interview with Philippine Daily Inquirer, he added that he has "high hopes" for "Pirates of the Caribbean 5" even if it's probably going to be the last in the series.

"I feel that we owe it to the audience who went and saw the films so many times. We'll do it right and end it on a high note," he said.

Meanwhile, Johnny Depp will play next Harry Houdini in Lionsgate's "The Secret Life of Houdini: The Making of America's First Superhero," Variety noted.

The film is based on the biography made in 2007 by William Kalush and Larry Sloman of the master escapist. Director Dean Parisot of Red 2 will helm the film.
