2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony Together? High School Rivals May Conspire To Dominate The Basketball World!

The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions also includes certain rumblings that may rock the basketball world! LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, whose careers have been intertwined since they were in high school, may finally play in the big stage as teammates!

LeBron James is currently locked in a title fight with his nemesis the San Antonio Spurs. They just got trounced right at their homecourt and the Spurs are now enjoying a 2-1 lead in the series.

There's still a long way to go and by Miami is not by any means out of the fight. But observers note that this year may be the most difficult year for the Heat. They have never looked this vulnerable since the Big Three got together. Their weaknesses are starting to unravel specifically in the center and point guard positions. While LeBron James is still the best basketball player (even if he lost the MVP to Durant), his two compatriots are looking more like average players.

LeBron knows just how powerful players are. His 'conspiracy' with Wade and Bosh changed the landscape of the entire league. Whether the Heat win the title or not, there will be questions that the team management needs to address. Shane Battier is retiring, and Ray Allen may follow suit. They still don't have a reliable center as the Greg Oden experiment was, pardon the term, a bust. Their point guards are being clobbered by Tony Parker and even Patty Mills. They need to improve those positions as James can no longer cover them by himself.

Carmelo Anthony, on the other hand, is hungry to join a team with fellow superstars who can help him win a title. There is no bigger star than King James, and they're not strangers.

USA Today elaborates the situation:

"Yet according to two people with knowledge of the situation, Anthony's part in this fluid free agency situation is worth monitoring as James is known to be interested in eventually playing with his close friend. Anthony also has a player option on his deal for next season (worth $23.5 million), and his connection to James has teams like the Lakers, Knicks and even the Heat wondering whether he may be able to join the four-time NBA MVP. The people requested anonymity because of sensitive nature of free agency talk."

The two players can choose any landing spot they want. It is likely that they would want to play in a big market with a young supporting cast that is poised to win. Of course, they need to have cap space.

LeBron James being locked on the Heat is not set in stone and time is running out for Carmelo Anthony's title window. Which lucky team will be the host for Basketball's dynamic duo?
