‘Gotham’ TV Series Spoilers: Cast Ben McKenzie Talks Of ‘Honest’ Det. Jim Gordon; Creator Wrote Series With Actor In Mind?

"Gotham" TV series spoilers are here and Ben McKenzie revealed that the "honest" Det. Jim Gordon will question himself at some point. Meanwhile, creator Bruno Heller reportedly wrote the show with the actor in mind.

"Gotham" TV series cast Ben McKenzie talked to InsideTV and revealed that Bruno Heller sent him the script early "and said he wrote this part with me in mind-which is incredibly flattering."

He also dished out some "Gotham" TV spoilers particularly on the character of Jim Gordon:

"He's a truly honest man. The last honest man in a city full of crooked people. It's very tricky nowadays to play a true, honest-to-goodness hero. Everybody is so cynical of people's intentions," he said.

However, he said that the TV series operates on the gray, rather than the black and white, so everything is not always as they seem. Just like Jim Gordon who, although can be considered a true hero, "but he will have to compromise."

"Everybody is on the take. Everybody is compromised. There is no way he'll emerge unscathed from that. How does he hold onto the thread of his mortality while getting things done?" he added.

The "Gotham" TV series is a prequel to when the hot-tempered billionaire puts on the bat suit. It tells the story of rookie detective James Gordon (Ben McKenzie) who, two weeks into the job, finds himself trying to be a father figure to the young Bruce Wayne, cleansing the department of corrupt cops and dealing with supervillains.

Bruno Heller told the "Gotham" TV series spoilers promo: "Gotham is a story about the origins of the great DC Comics super-villains and how they came to be. Catwoman, The Riddler, Penguin, Poison Ivy. What made The Joker The Joker? How Scarecrow became Scarecrow."

There are also a lot of emotions involved particularly between the relationship between Jim Gordon and the boy who would later become the Batman, and "how the two of them became friends, how the two of them became allies," Bruno Heller said.
