Jack White With Conan O'brien Speaks Out About Using Cell Phones and Tablets At Shows [VIDEO]

In an interview with Conan O'brien this past week, famed musician Jack White spoke out about using cell phones at concerts.

Conan brought up the topic about when he goes on stage, often all he sees are the screens of mobile devices. White first got the idea to ask people to put their phones away on his last tour when he asked the crowd to "just enjoy this with our eyes and ears." He went on to say, " a lot of people applauded for that, everyone, as a mob, agreed... Its distracting for the people in the back trying to really watch, they just see a sea of blue screens in front of them." He also said that he didn't like how people," were documenting the moment, not in the moment."

Instead White has promised to film his shows for his fans, and then give them the footage afterwords. That way they can enjoy the moment rather than record the moment. Other performers have also started doing that, including Kanye West.

The two went on to joke about their interest in history, particularly the dark chapters, as well as White's quest to release his music on vinyl. White makes his own vinyl records, and is particularly proud of his most recent "Lazaretto."

This comes only a few weeks after the musician got in some trouble for badmouthing about the Black Keys, then apologizing.
