Moto 360 Watch Price, Release Date & Specs; $279 Tag Expected For Upcoming Android Wear Device; Online Retailer Posts Pre-Order Page For Gadget

Moto 360 Watch’s price, release date and specs are hot in the news lately, thanks to the fact that interest on the unit has been heightened because of the possibility that it would be the first “Google smartwatches” in the market. It will be running the Android Wear OS, which is a Google platform designed for wearables.

An online retailer’s U.S. website has posted the price tag of the upcoming Moto 360 to be $279. According to Gotta Be Mobile, Mobile Fun also posted an official pre-order page yesterday on its U.K. showing the impressive look of the Moto 360, but having a different price tag. The Mobile Fun product page shows the Moto 360 Watch for sale at £199.99, which is roughly equivalent to $336.

All prices being floated or rumored for the smartwatch is far from final since Motorola has yet to make an announcement on the official price tag of the Moto 360. There is also no official spec sheet as of yet on the device, but the first known picture of the smartwatch reveal that it will look more like a traditional watch than a high-tech digital gadget.

Gotta Be Mobile notes that the Motorola wearable is one of the most anticipated smartwatches coming this summer. It’s expected to compete head to head with a new range of Android Wear-powered smartwatches including the HTC One Wear and the LG G Watch.

Some speculate that the Moto 360 Watch and the LG G Watch maybe launch at the end of this month during the Google I/O conference or possibly a week after it.

The rumored price tag of the Moto 360 is similar to the Pebble Steel, the high-end wearable from the Kickstarter-initiated start-up. A recent study show that Pebble is the most dominant wearable brand in the market today accounting for almost a third of shipments for the first quarter of 2014.
