Will Ferrell vs Chad Smith Drum Off Part 2 Is About To Happen And Another Contender Enters The Rings; Metallica’s Lars Ulrich Joins As Doppelganger

After a successful win on the very first drum off on Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Will Ferrell is at up for the challenge once again for a part 2 of the Will Ferrell vs Chad Smith Drum Off.

Though things would be different now, Lars Ulrich, the iconic rock band Metallica’s drummer, will join the two look-alikes in the drum off.

Chad Smith and Will Ferrell called out one of the founding member of Metallica for a drum off last June 10 in another interview with Spin.

“I mean, we did talk about another drum-off. With a third person that looks eerily similar to Chad and I. A third drummer out there,” Ferrell said.
Chad Smith said in reply: “I think it's — did we talk about Lars?”
“We talked about Lars [Ulrich], from Metallica. So, I don't know,” Ferrell replied.
Ulrich, in a few days replied and accepted the challenge after Spin released an article that caught the attention of Smith and Ferrell.

“It was a little lonely on the sidelines during the first drum-off, given the somewhat forced nature of the lookalike element between Chad Smith and Will Ferrell, when I'm TRULY the one carrying that dead-ringer gene around! As for any further drum-offs, I'm sure that with a bit of practice, I could give Chad a run for his money. But Will? That's a whole different story. He rules the "bad-ass drummer universe." I mean, you're talking about a guy who's so next level, actually, so beyond next level, that he may just be completely unreachable! That said, I'm definitely up for the challenge…Bring it on!!!”

Smith then jokingly took Ulrich’s acceptance as a threat and threatened him on his Facebook page with a post:

“Two pieces of advice for Lars: Leave the double bass drums at home and load up on cowbells!”
