LG G Watch Release Date: Upcoming Wearable Specs Incl. 1.65" IPS Display, 512MB RAM, Water And Dust Resistance

For the past couple of months, we have been looking forward for the LG G Watch release date as it is officially the manufacturer's attempt to join the Android wearable bandwagon.

Sony, Samsung and other Android OEMs have already released their own versions of the smartwatch and now it is LG's turn.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the specs of the upcomig smartwatch have already been confirmed, thanks to a press release by LG Electronics.

In the report, the LG G Watch packs a 1.65-inch IPS LCD touch screen with 280x280 resolution, a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 chipset, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal memory.

Even with those specs, the LG G Watch is already a good deal for people who are interested to buy.

But wait, there's more.

The LG smartwatch also boasts a water and dust resistant build that can be soaked in water for over 30 minutes. That is specially handy if you are the outdoor type of guy.

Other specs also include a gyro sensor, accelerometer, compass, Bluetooth and a 400mAh battery to power the device. Its dimensions are 37.9 x 46.5 x 9.95mm, and it weighs 63g.

The LG G Watch straps can be replaced by any standard straps available in watch stores, so that's another big plus in terms of design and customization. The device comes in White Gold or Black Titan color options.

According to the report, the LG G Watch should already be available from the Play Store by now, while AT&T is among the first US carriers to offer it in the market, and should be ready in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately, pricing details for the LG G Watch are not yet available, and we know that it is a critical factor in order to succeed in the Android wearable market.
