Derrick Rose News: Can 2011 MVP Lure LeBron To Chicago?

For the past couple of seasons, all Derrick Rose news we could read and hear is about his injury and how he prepares to make his triumphant return.

He returned in the hardcourt alright, but only played a few games last season due to another injury on his other knee. And now that rehabilitation is slowly bringing the 2011 NBA MVP back in shape, talks in the Windy City are already excited about his Return 2.0.

However, with his return to the Chicago Bulls, Rose could be the answer to the ultimate question - will he agree to play with LeBron James and become the best duo the Bulls has had since the Jordan-Pippen era?

Well, history does not say so.

During the free agency before the 2010-11 NBA season, Rose had the option to lure in LeBron who then left Cleveland in search for a title contender. However, instead of choosing James, then 23-year-old Rose picked backup point guard Kirk Hinrich instead.

It wasn't a bad decision at all, as Rose became the youngest MVP that year. Unfortunately, his Bulls team was ousted from NBA title contention during the Eastern Conference Finals - none other by James's Miami Heat.

Now that Rose has the option once more to at least shoot for the best player in free agent pool, will he take it? Or does it goes the same with Carmelo Anthony, whom his pal Joakim Noah has been 'courting' for weeks now.

In another report, some sources close to the issue claim that Rose is more interested in getting Timverwolves front man Kevin Love because he sees him as a 'team player'.

Love would not only be a team player but would offer much more benefits to Chicago. Together with Noah, the two can build the best frontline in the entire NBA in both offense and defense.

But LeBron James is still the best professional basketball player on the planet.
