Los Angeles Clippers News: C.J. Wilcox Gets Selected 28th Overall

In case you have been looking for good Los Angeles Clippers news, then here's one. Lob City has selected C.J. Wilcox from Washington.

At 23 years old, Wilcox can already fit well in Doc Rivers' system, though he just have to prove that he can play ball.

During the 2014 NBA Draft earlier tonight, Clippers selected Wilcox as the 28th overall pick.

While some people are a bit disappointed about the pick, but with the absence of big guys in the pool of top draft prospects, it was only practical for Los Angeles to get a shooting guard.

Matt Moore of CBS Sports grades the Clippers' pick as a B. In his Twitter account, Moore said:

Clippers: B: Clippers wanted a shooter. If a better big was available here, that would be one thing, but there wasn't one. Good fit.

As far as ESPN experts are concerned, they label Wilcox as a specialist, scorer and shooter.

During his senior year at Washington, Wilcox averaged 18.3 points and 3.5 rebounds per game. He averaged 39.1 percentage from deep, which is certainly worth looking into. The University of Washinton finished with a 17-15 win-loss card for the 2013-14 season.

In the report by CBS Sports, the 6-5" shooting guard has one of the best three-point shots of the entire draft class this year, and if properly trained could turn out into one of the more clutch shooters in the entire NBA.

However, at only 195 pounds, Wilcox needs to add more muscles to his frame in order to become a more capable defender for slashing guards.

During the draft, there was also speculation that the Clippers would trade Wilcox for another veteran shooter, but a report from Yahoo Sports says that Doc will be keeping CJ Wilcox, and he should be seen in action immediately at the start of the season.
