‘Homeland’ Season 4 Spoilers: Brody’s ‘Specter’ Still Felt Strongly After Premiere Date, Carrie Will Evolve Into A Mother With Baby Arrival

New "Homeland" season 4 spoilers reveal that though Brody is dead, his "specter" will still be felt strongly after the premiere date. Meanwhile, Carrie will evolve into a mother with the arrival of her baby in "Homeland" season 4.

"Homeland" executive producer Howard Gordon gave some spoiler details to TV Guide, explaining that Brody will not be forgotten despite his shocking death in the season 3 finale.

"The story finds Carrie in an emotional space that is very much a continuation of last year's story, and the specter of Brody is still felt very strongly," Gordon said.

Perhaps he is alluding to the fact that Brody's child may be heavily present in "Homeland" season 4.

"This year tells the story of Carrie and her evolution as CIA officer but also as a woman, who now turns out to be a mother," Gordon added.

Previously, Carrie had wanted to put Brody's unborn baby up for adoption after birth, but her father promises to raise the child for her. Gordon's recent spoiler comments suggest Carrie will have a bigger role in her baby's life and she may even bring her and Brody's child to Istanbul, where she has been promoted to CIA case officer.

As we previously reported, "Homeland" creator Alex Gansa gave a spoiler about season 4 during an interview with Variety, revealing how Brody will live on in the HBO series.

"Obviously Carrie is going to have to deal with the child. We never thought she was going to have a miscarriage or have an abortion. This child is how Brody spiritually remains in the show... The other idea running around our brains Is that it will be really interesting to see Carrie do what she was trained to do - be a case officer in a foreign country. That seems to us like a really interesting place to start to reinvent the show," Gansa said, referring to Claire Danes' character Carrie Mathison, and her CIA promotion to Istanbul, Turkey.

Danes also commented about Carrie's pregnancy, which she reveals is likely to play a large role in "Homeland" season 4, both physically and mentally, for Carrie.

"I think [the child] is going to be a big theme for her emotionally," Danes said, Deadline reports. "I think she probably escapes into her job. I think she hurls herself at it as a way to avoid some unresolved, very painful feelings to do with Brody."

The "Homeland" season 4 premiere date has not yet been released, but expect the first episode to come sometime in September or October.
