Nicki Minaj Iggy Azalea Feud Brews After ‘Super Bass’ Singer’s BET Awards Comment; ‘Fancy’ Songstress Mum On Issue

Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea's feud is brewing after "Super Bass" singer's comments during the BET Awards on writing own songs. The "Fancy" songstress, however, is still mum on the issue.

"What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it," she said. The comment was met with catcalls and applause, and Minaj immediately added, "No no no no no shade," with a wide smile.

That's when the rumored Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea feud seemed to have started, as the "Fancy" singer reportedly do not write her own songs, instead using mentor T.I. and others as ghostwriters, TIME magazine said.

"So when Minaj made a point in her speech to say that her songs are authentically Nicki, it sounded like some serious shade," it added.

Twitter users also did not miss the apparent shade as Paula Hellens tweeted, per CNN: "So its safe to say there won't be any Nicki & Iggy collabs anytime soon."

MTV noted that Nicki Minaj posed for the camera, gave "major duckface" and "danced seductively" while looking at the camera during Iggy Azalea's performance of her hit song "Fancy" on Sunday night.

"It's likely this moment will be used as further evidence that Nicki and Iggy have some kind of silent beef brewing," MTV added of the brewing Nicki Minaj, Iggy Azalea feud. "Many wondered if part of the Queens rapper's acceptance speech for Best Female Hip Hop Artist ("When you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it.") was meant as a slight against the Aussie native."

Meanwhile, Rolling Stone ranked the Nicki Minaj and Iggy Azalea feud as the top "pop culture power rankings" for the week.

"Like all good feuds, this one features fake accents, cultural appropriation and plenty of booty padding," it said.
