2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: LeBron James To Cleveland? Experts Are Skeptical But They Were Wrong About Miami Also!

The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions are now rife with possibilities with more and more reports that LeBron James is actually considering leaving the Miami Heat to go back to his hometown Cleveland!

There's still a long way to go before that becomes a reality as discussed by ESPN's panel of experts. The question: Do you buy the idea of LeBron James actually returning to Cleveland?

"Amin Elhassan, ESPN Insider: Not really. If LeBron's main wish is to continue to compete at a high level, it's hard to argue that Cleveland is the spot to offer him that. That's not to say that eventually the Cavs can't get to that level, as Kyrie Irving mends bad habits andAndrew Wiggins continues to develop, but if we're being frank, this team with LeBron probably isn't ready to compete for a conference title, let alone an NBA championship. And that's not even getting into 'The Letter.'"

'The Letter' is a hate-filled tirade by Cavs owner Dan Gilbert which he posted publicly on the Cleveland Cavaliers' website (infamously written in Comic Sans font). It has been taken off the site just two days ago.

"Israel Gutierrez, ESPN.com: I'm buying the idea of it. If there's any place he can go and not be labeled a championship chaser, it's Cleveland, because it's near home. But I'm not buying the idea of LeBron forgiving Dan Gilbert this quickly or that he would leave his buddy Dwyane Wade out to dry after he opted out of $40-plus million over the next two years. Nor am I necessarily buying LeBron's faith in a new GM and coach in Cleveland."

The home factor carries more weight than most people think. LeBron and his wife are Ohio natives and that's where they spend their holidays/off-days. LeBron can really play anywhere being the best player in the world. If his wife would be the one to make the request, he may set all factors aside.

"Ethan Sherwood Strauss, ESPN.com: Not really. They can't offer him the most money, the team stinks, it's a market free agents don't go to, and the team's owner bad-mouthed him on the way out. Other than that, it makes all the sense in the world."

In a nutshell, Strauss summarizes why this probably won't happen. But stranger things can happen in the NBA, like the top free agents ending up on one team. That happened in Miami, 2010. Not many 'experts' saw it coming.
