Upcoming Android Tablets 2014: LG's New G Pads Now Being Shipped To Global Market

There are lots of upcoming Android tablets this 2014, and LG wants to join the party. After announcing its latest slates a couple of weeks ago, the devices are now reportedly beginning to be shipped to target markets worldwide.

The Korean manufacturer recently unveiled a trio of Android devices, dubbed the G Pad 7.0, G Pad 8.0 and the G Pad 10.1, and you guessed right, those are the screen sizes for each device.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, the largest of the bunch, the G Pad 10.1 would make its way to the US market soon, to be followed by other markets including Europe, Asia and South America.

In case you missed the announcement date of the LG G Pad 10.1, it borrows a number of features from the LG G3 such as UX features, and others. As far as specs are concerned, the G Pad 10.1 is a midrange Android tablet.

The Android slate packs a 10.1-inch IPS display (hence its name) with 1280 x 800 resolution, which should be decent enough given the midrange status of the device. Also on board the G Pad 10.1 is a quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, a Snapdragon chipset, and 1GB of RAM.

Behind the G Pad 10.1 is a 5-megapixel shooter, while there is a 1.3MP front cam for selfies and video calls. There is also a 16GB of internal memory that is expandable through the microSD card slot.

Fortunately, the huge screen will be powered by a, 8,000mAh battery, and Android 4.4.2 Kit Kat out of the box.

The LG G Pad 10.1 is expected to hit the US market in a matter of weeks so you better save up if you are planning to get this device. For now, no local carrier has announced partnership with LG in offering this tablet, but we'll see in the next couple of days.
