Sony Xperia Z3 Compact Release Date Will Be In September Together With Xperia Z2 Successor

For the US market, Sony has not been as generous in releasing their latest handsets compared to others countries. In fact, the Xperia Z2 has yet to arrive in American soil. And that is why a lot of Android fans are already looking forward to the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact release date.

The first version of the device which launched in the US is the Xperia Z1 Compact, which is a mini version of then flagship Xperia Z1. Unfortunately, months after the new flagship, Xperia Z2, was announced, there were no updates whether the Japanese manufacturer would make a Z2 Compact.

Well, it looks like the Android OEM will just skip Z2 and move on to the Z3 Compact.

According to a report by GSM Arena, a document coming from German carrier Vodafone shows that the Z3 Compact would be available in stores beginning in September, probably a week or two after the IFA event in Berlin.

Interestingly, the Japanese mobile phone maker will also announce its next flagship, the Xperia Z3. That means the Android phone manufacturer will have launched three flagship devices in just a year. Compared to other brands, that is a pretty quick turnaround.

Samsung unveils its devices almost exactly one year later. The Galaxy S4 was launched March last year, while this year's flagship, the Galaxy S5 made its debut in February.

LG, on the other hand releases its flagships at a rather increasing pace over the last few months. After it launched the LG G2 last September, the Korean brand followed it with the LG G3 nearly four months earlier.

Sony definitely wants to become more visible, particularly in huge markets such as the US. And so we expect the Xperia Z3 Compact to be available by October this year. While, the same expectations may not be the same for the Xperia Z3, we sure hope Sony would have a change of heart in its current covered market.
