2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions: Lance Stephenson To Miami? 'Public Enemy No 1 For The Heat Ready To Change Sides? Has Riley Pushed The Panic Button?

The 2014 NBA Free Agency Rumors & Predictions are getting crazier by the minute. It seems like everything has been considered and no player is off limits as long as the price is right. Lance Stephenson, who caught the ire of the Miami Heat fans in their Eastern Conference Finals series last May could actually end up in a Heat uniform!

Stephenson's antics actually cost him a chance to strike big in his free agency, as teams were turned off by his on-court antics. That included joining a Heat on-court huddle, flopping blatantly and the most famous of all, blowing into LeBron James' ear.

But the bottom line for Pat Riley, I guess, is that 'Born Ready' can actually play and play hard. He should know that as he was a first hand witness and some of his wards were victims.

"And they've even tried to entice some talents you wouldn't expect, such as Pacers' agitator Lance Stephenson.

That report, from ESPN's Dan LeBatard, may have surprised some, considering that James, Wade, Bosh and the rest of the Heat became weary of what Ray Allen labeled 'buffoonery' during the recent Eastern Conference finals. But it shouldn't, if you know how strongly James feels about simply adding talent that can assist his championship aspirations, even if it comes with some attitude."

Stephenson understands, of course, that nothing concrete will take place until the big dominoes actually fall into place. It's even a question of whether the Heat can afford his asking price. From NBC Sports:

"Stephenson is in no rush to get a deal done, even though the dollars are dwindling in Indiana and the Pacers may not have even their initial offer of five years and $44 million anymore that Stephenson already rejected. But he will have offers from other teams in that range or beyond once the bigger names begin to come off the market, and for that reason, Miami was never a real option, despite the team's reported level of interest."

Hard times have fallen on the Heat when they're the ones who get passed on now. Lance will probably stay in Indiana for whatever they're willing to offer him in the end.
