LeBron James News: Homecoming LeBron Torn Between Two Numbers

By this time last week, the entire NBA world was still in shock after 4-time MVP LeBron James decided to return home to his roots in Cleveland after a stellar four-straight NBA Finals appearances with the Miami Heat.

After all the commotion following the days after the Decision 2.0, where Melo decides to head back to New York, Bosh re-signs with the Heat in a max contract, and Gasol chooses Bulls over Spurs and OKC, the dust seems settled now.

However, the battle is just beginning for James, and his first test: which number should he use returning as a Cavs player?

According to a report by Bleacher Report, James is having problems deciding which jersey number would he use for the upcoming NBA season. In fact, he is having a difficult time deciding that he even posted it on his Instagram account.

For many Cavs fans, it is well fitting that their long-gone prodigal son returns to his original number of 23, where he first hit it off as a superstar and brought the team to its first ever finals appearance in franchise history.

However, for some people, me included, James' is already a finished chapter in his career, and his return to Cleveland should not be seen as a continuation, but a 'new beginning'.

'New' is certainly a fitting word for the Cavs team this year as they have a new coach, new players, and a new goal - not to make the Playoffs, but win a title this coming NBA season.

On the other hand, jersey number 6 from the Miami Heat is a better fit for James in his return to his hometown. It is as if he's saying that he's bringing back with him everything he learned from South Beach to his new (and old) team.

However, as mentioned earlier, LBJ's return to Cleveland marks a new chapter in his career, and so don't be surprised if the 29-year-old NBA veteran chooses an entirely different number for the next season.
