LG G Pad 10.1 review, specs: Specs Of 10” Android Tablet incl. Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 Processor, 16 GB Memory, 1 GB RAM; The Giant Is Out, But Does Size Really Matter?

LG G Pad 10.1 review, specs: After the successful release of the 8.3-inch G Pad, LG has recently launched its biggest tablet up to date: the LG G Pad 10.1. This giant sports 16 GB internal memory (expandable up to 64 GB), 1 GB of RAM, and a 5 MP camera, powered by 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor and Android 4.4.2 KitKat.

In spite of its monstrous size, critics thumbed the LG G Pad 10.1 down after it appears to have lower specs than its smaller predecessor. zdnet.com said, “Tablet buyers may be disappointed by the fact LG appears to have traded in the higher specs of its original G Pad in favour of greater choice in its newer devices.” This is in line with the company’s announcement to launch three more G Pads.

Available in red or black, the G Pad 10.1 has dimension of 10.27 x 6.53 x 0.35 inches and a weight of 523 grams. It fares between the iPad Air with 478g and the Retina display iPad with 662g.

Meanwhile, its 10.1-inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen has a resolution of 800 x 1280 pixels with a 149 pixel density. The size might be overwhelming, but the quality is certainly a downgrade from the 8.3-inch G Pad’s 1920x1200 pixel (273ppi) display.

Under the hood, the LG G Pad 10.1’s 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 400 processor and 1 GB RAM are also lower than their predecessor’s 1.7GHz Quad-Core Snapdragon 600 processor and 2 GB RAM.

Meanwhile, the latest G Pad sports a 5 MP rear camera and a 1.3 MP in the front, all supported by a 8,000 mAh battery.

LG has also hardwired its G Pad with the Knock Code home screen lock feature and QPair, both dedicated to handle notifications of different Android devices. The G Pad 10.1 also has the ability to split its screen to run two applications at the same time.

The market is still being dominated by Apple and Samsung. However, as LG hopes to even out the playing field by releasing its latest flagship model with three more to follow.
