Upcoming LG Phones 2014: G Vista Midranger Hits Verizon, Is This Better Than HTC's One Remix?

Aside from the Note 3 contender G Pro 2, and the LG G3 flagship, there aren't a lot of upcoming LG phones in 2014. However, for the company's 'mini' offering, Verizon is offering a branding-heavy LG G3 mini.

Dubbed as LG G Vista, the Android-powered handset boasts the same specs as the G3 mini, which is not a bad thing. Besides, the G3 mini is certainly a capable midranger that gets the gorgeous design of the G3 flagship.

In the report, the G Vista costs $99.99 with a two-year contract or $399 off-contract. Your choice. The US carrier also offers the device through its Verizon Edge installment where you can get the G Vista and pay $19.99 for 20 months.

So is the G Vista worth the price?

The LG-made smartphone packs a huge 5.7-inch display (its screen is even bigger than the G3) with HD (1280 x 720) resolution, a Snapdragon 400 chipset, quad-core CPU clocked at 1.2GHz, and a 16GB of internal memory with microSD card slot for storage expansion.

In the camera department lies the 8MP OIS-powered snapper with the focus sensor which is also present in the LG G3 flagship. A 1.3MP secondary camera graces the front for selfies and video calls.

While the LG G Vista for Verizon is certainly a looker thanks to its gorgeous design, its release is extremely close to the HTC Remix which is the carrier's version of the HTC One mini 2.

The Remix and G Vista share the same chipset, 1.5GB RAM, internal storage and even CPU frequency. However, the similarities end with the HTC smartphone's 13MP primary camera and 5MP front shooter, way ahead of the G Vista.

On the other hand, the LG device ups the Remix with a much bigger 5.7-inch display compared to the former's 4.5-inch screen.

So basically, choosing between these two handsets depends on what the consumer prefers - a bigger screen, or better camera shots.
