Jeremy Lin News: NBA Star Can't Wait To Learn From Kobe, Nash, Is He A Good Fit In Coach Byron Scott's System?

For the past couple of weeks, all we can read and hear about Jeremy Lin news is about his the new chapter that will open up for his young NBA career with the league's most popular ballclub - the Lakers.

And as early as now, Lin has expressed his excitement in playing with former MVPs Kobe Bryant and Steve Nash.

In an interview with Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders, Lin said how excited he is to be part of a new-look Laker squad.

"It's really exciting. What can't you learn from them? People have been asking that question a lot, and it's kind of, like, I want to learn everything."

The 25-year-old then talks that while Bryant is on a different position (shooting guard), he can certainly teach him some of the basics such as footwork, and even give him advice as far the mental aspect of the game is concerned.

Being a California-native, Lin has long been a Laker fan, and what a way to get a new team this off-season.

Back in Houston where Lin was received with high expectations following his 'Linsanity' stint with the Knicks the season before, the floor general had a difficult time adjusting to a minor role as far as ball-handling duties are concerned.

With the Rockets star player James Harden dominating the ball and scoring almost at will, the only thing Lin can do is spot up and wait for Harden to give him the ball. During the next season, Lin was replaced completely in the starting lineup by defensive guard Patrick Beverly.

In a new Laker team that has a lot of new players and a new coach, Lin will be given the task of getting his teammates in the groove with his passes and playmaking skills - that is if he will start instead of future Hall of Famer Steve Nash.

Newly-installed coach Scott is a defensive-minded one, and one that will test Lin and push him to the limits. Known as not a good defender, Lin can certainly learn from Scott, but he has to control his instincts on offense to do so.

Fortunately, Scott has already coached some of the best guards in the NBA in his coaching career, including Jason Kidd with the New Jersey Nets and Chris Paul when he was still with the New Orleans Hornets.
