Nokia Lumia 930 Vs. LG G3: Which Flagship Is Better-Suited To Be At The Top?

There are a number of flagships which have been recently launched, including LG's G3 and the Nokia Lumia 930. Now, we will check which of the two heavyweights are worth buying this time of the year.

Nokia Lumia 930

While the Lumia 930 was announced back at the BUILD conference by Microsoft, it has only been available for a few weeks in the international market. The phone packs a 5-inch ClearBlack display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 800 chipset with four cores running at 2.2GHz.

Nothing too impressive here as the Snapdragon 800 chip is almost a year old already, nevertheless it is still Nokia's most powerful smartphone to date. Other notable specs include a 20MP PureView camera, which is certainly an advantage in favor of the Nokia flagship.

However, what sets the phone apart from previous Nokia high-end phones is its Windows Phone Cyan a.k.a. WP 8.1 version which adds a number of cool features to the platform, including voice assistant Cortana, customizable homescreens, and an Active Center - WP's first notification center.

LG G3

To start off, the LG G3 is a huge device, bordering phablet category with its 5.5-inch display. However, what is most notable here is its super high resolution of QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440). The Android-powered handset runs on 3GB of RAM, a Snapdragon 801 chipset, and quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5GHz.

Behind the device are its 13MP OIS shooter with a focus laser at the side. The power button and volume buttons are still located at the back which may need some practice. The phone comes out with Android 4.4 Kit Kat out of the box, topped with LG's own UI.

Verdict

At the end of the day, it is still Android vs. Windows Phone, and while WP 8.1 has already a number of improvements in its arsenal, it may still not enough to entice most Android users to make the switch. But in case you are rooting for the basic specs, the G3's higher RAM and impressive screen are certainly difficult to pass. Of course, cameraphone enthusiasts would be better off with the Lumia 930's 20MP PureView camera.
