Upcoming Samsung Phones 2014: Galaxy S5 LTE-A For Europe Only Has FHD Screen As Opposed To Korean Version's Better Display?

Several weeks ago, we have seen one of the upcoming Samsung phones for 2014 and it was initially launched in South Korea to take care of the 'LG G3' threat from its hometown rival, LG.

The Android-powered smartphone is certainly a beast when it comes to specs, boasting a 5.2-inch display with Quad HD (2560 x 1440) resolution screen, same as the LG G3, though the latter has a bigger 5.5-inch screen.

Because of the phone's unprecedented specs in the mobile market today, a lot of consumers were happy to know that the higher-spec'd flagship device from Samsung will be coming to European soil as well.

However, in a report by GSM Arena, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A version which is bound for Europe will get slightly lower specs than the one which made its debut in Korea.

Benchmarking app GFXBench managed to get a hold of the new smartphone and tested its specs. It turns out that the high-end Samsung smartphone would only get a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution screen, instead of the Quad HD display of the Korean model.

In addition, RAM has also been retained to just 2GB, lower than the 3GB RAM found in the Korean Galaxy S5 LTE-A.

It is unclear why the Korean manufacturer opted to build a lower-end version of the Galaxy S5 LTE-A for Europe, especially now that the LG G3 is also available for purchase in some markets within the region.

Aside from the screen resolution and RAM, other notable specs of the Galaxy S5 LTE-A are identical to the Korean edition. The Android-powered handset boasts a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset, Adreno 420 GPU, and a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5GHz.

Unfortunately, details about the camera, and other features are not yet available at the moment. Availability and pricing details have not been disclosed as well.
