‘Deadpool’ Movie: Ryan Reynolds Was Born To Play Deadpool! The Merc With A Mouth Is Not Meant To Be Serious! ‘Green Lantern’ Star Will Have Last Shot To Redeem His Poor Super Hero Record!

The "Deadpool' movie is still in production limbo, but we were recently teased with the possibilities when the test footage leaked on the internet. Ryan Reynolds offered his voice talents for the clip, and it seemed like a perfect fit.

Ryan Reynolds has not had a good run with Super hero movie roles. He played Deadpool before in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine"-a movie which Fox wants everyone to forget. Everything seemed wrong in the film-except for some casting choices. Deadpool was badly written in the film, but Ryan Reynolds had potential to be the man for the job.

His second outing as Green Lantern in 2011 did not help his super hero cred at all. Moviepilot argues that the criticism of both movies is not Reynolds' fault: "Rather than pigeonholing him as a failure due to a few notable failures that were not his fault, we should take him as he is: a great actor whose goal is to make money and to give audiences a good time."

Esquire had a strong argument for Reynolds to reprise his Deadpool role. They even argue that he was "born to play" the part!

The reason why a Deadpool movie topped the Fox survey of movies we'd like to see is that the character is unique. He should not be changed just to conform. More than the special effects or a Wolverine cameo, a Deadpool film mush have a great story: "A good Deadpool movie won't be a gritty reimagining like Batman Begins. Deadpool is supposed to be campy. Skewing him darker would be a tragic mishandling of a character known for breaking the fourth wall in Bugs Bunny-esque slapstick. And making a serious man out of him would be as insulting to audiences as hiring writers and actors who have never read the comics."

So, why Reynolds?

"That's why Ryan Reynolds is the perfect guy for this one. The viewing public doesn't like him when he does anything other than crack wise and shrug off conflict. And Deadpool aka Wade Wilson isn't one for getting serious about his work. And that's a rare gift, seeing as just about every other comic hero worth his spandex is empathetic and brooding."

The article cites that Reynolds lack of emotional depth may even be an asset for this role. They reiterate: "Audiences don't pay to watch Ryan Reynolds care about things. They envy him for giving zero fks.(sic)"

Reynolds invested heavily in the film (even without a clear green light) for a reason. In his heart, he probably agrees-He was born to play Deadpool!
