Moto 360 Release Date, Rumors, Price, Specs, New Leaked Photos: Rumors From Motorola China Say Smartwatch May Be Made From Plastic Not Metal, Will Feature Wireless Charging [PHOTO]

The Moto 360 Smartwatch release date is just around the corner, and EVLeaks has just shared a ton of new photos showing a finished product readt to be launched.

So EvLinks and threw out a bunch of tasty press images of the much-coveted Moto 360.

There's not much new to see here, but the fact that press shots have popped up suggests that a launch is imminent.

Motorola previously promised that we'd see the smartwatch on shelves at the end of the Summer, and we're still holding onto hope that we'll see it before August is out. It likely will be released in conjuction with the moto X+1.

Motorola's upcoming "wearable" tech might not be what users are imagining it to be.

Chinese website TechWeb reports that contrary to current believe, the Moto 360 smartwatch will be made of plastic instead of metal.

The Moto 360 does have a wider display at 1.88 inches. The LG G Watch and Samsung Gear Live, on the other hand, are 1.65 inches and 1.63 inches thick respectively, so at least screen size wise, Motorola has a slight edge.

Like the LG and Samsung wearable, the Moto 360 will be running Android Wear OS.

Since being revealed earlier this year, the Moto 360 has gained consumer recognition like no smart watch before it, with much of the demand coming from its round face and seemingly high end build. The reveal of plastic being used instead of metal, may hurt this image that Motorola has so carefully crafted.

The moto 360 is rumored to feature the same, tile-based, swipe-navigated interface, the 360 will offer a similar user experience to the G Watch and Gear Live, albeit on a round as opposed to square screen. One area where the 360 will set itself apart from the competition is through its watch faces.

The Motorola 360 is so far the only Android watch with a circular screen and a high quality metal. According to expert reviews, the Moto 360 will come with an option of either metal or leather straps.  Rumors suggest that the Moto 360 watch screen is a custom-made OLED display and coupled with the ambient light sensor it should be a pretty efficient device. It is said that the OLED screen can save up to 40% of power compared LCD displays. This is an advantage to the Moto 360 watch.

It is also reported that Motorola confirmed that the Moto 360 can charge wirelessly via magnetic induction. The Motorola 360 watch will likely run with Google's Android Wear OS, compatible with all Android 4.3 and Android 4.4 phones and tablets through Bluetooth.

Reports say that the Moto 360 smartwatch will also be water resistant. Although there is no official announcement, Motorola casually hinted that the average retail value of the Moto 360 Watch is $249. It is not known what model this price is in reference to.
