Upcoming Samsung Phones 2014: Metal-Clad Galaxy Alpha Will Be The Fastest Phone In The Market If It Comes With Exynos 5433 Chip

The imminent release of the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 is certainly shaking the mobile market right now, and Apple's Korean rival will certainly not give up the fight. That is why one of the upcoming Samsung phones for 2014 will certainly be one of a kind.

Dubbed as the Galaxy Alpha, the Android-powered smartphone is the first smartphone from Samsung that gets a metal frame to keep the pieces together. The smartphone also packs a 4.7-inch display with HD resolution to rival the iPhone 6's 4.7-inch Retina display.

However, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy Alpha is not all about looks.

Recent reports claim that the device will pack Samsung's homebaked Exynos 5433 chipset, which recently smoked the Snapdragon 805 of Qualcomm in a benchmark. That Exynos chipset was tested in the Galaxy S5 LTE-A smartphone for Korea, which is a higher-end flagship device for the company's home market.

But if Exynos 5433 already performs as the best chipset running the Galaxy S5 LTE-A's QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440) display, it will certainly do even better if it runs in just an HD (1280 x 720) resolution screen.

That certainly holds a lot of promise, and even with 'just' 2GB of RAM, that will already be enough to make the Galaxy Alpha the fastest smartphone in the planet.

Still, we cannot guarantee anything until Samsung announces itself that the Galaxy Alpha will indeed run with Exynos 5433.

Other notable specs of the upcoming Samsung phone include a 12 or 13MP primary camera at the back and a 2MP front cam, user-replaceable battery and 32GB of built-in memory with no option for expandable storage.

The question now is whether the Galaxy Alpha's metal frame and rumored powerful chipset are enough to match the upcoming 4.7-inch iPhone 6.
