‘X Men Apocalypse' Cast: 'Blink' Will Return For The Sequel! Fan Bingbing Admits Contract Is For 'Four X-Men Movies!' Who Else Will Return?

The cast of "X-Men: Apocalypse" is like a jigsaw puzzle that we have to complete, piece by piece. With the mutant smorgasbord that was "X-Men: Days of Future Past" we can expect Apocalypse to also have a cast of thousands. One of the new mutants introduced in 'Future Past' already responded to the roll call.

Fan Bingbing plays the time traveling mutant from the future, Blink. Her character immediately connected with the audience. But even before that, Fox already had plans for the Chinese actress who recently topped Forbes China Celebrity 100 list. Prior to "Days Of Future Past" she was always in the Top 10.

Bingbing spoke to The Star Online (though a translator) about her X-Men role, and she revealed a point of curiosity:

"I am contracted to appear in the next four X-Men films and it's going to be really amazing. In 14 years since the X-Men films started, this is the first time an Asian mutant is in the film. So, it's going to be really interesting."

Of course, there were already Asians in the X-Men movies foremost would be Kelly Hu as Lady Deathstrike (memorable fight scene with Wolverine in "X2"). But so far, none of them portrayed an actual X-man.

She mentions that she is contracted for the "next four X-Men films." That means she will be in Apocalypse-and beyond!

More from the interview: "In the comics, Blink is a Caucasian girl, so I was curious why Bryan wanted an Asian to play the role. He said that it's time for Blink to make an appearance and, for her debut she has to be simply marvelous. It was an offer I couldn't refuse."

All the studios are heeding the clamor for diversity-more female characters, more races represented. That wasn't hard to figure out.

Four more X-men movies reveal a lot of possibilities. Will Sunfire and Bishop also return? Will this lead to the alternate reality of the Exiles? Suffice to say, Fox has a long term plan for the mutants, and time travel will always be a part of it.

"X-Men: Apocalypse" release date is on May 27, 2016.
