'House Of Cards' Season 3 Release Date And Spoilers: Showrunner Beau Willimon Talks About Frank Underwood's Struggles In Season 3 During Interview With Katie Couric [PHOTO]

"House of Cards" Season 3 has begun filming, and show creator Beau Willimon finally got to share something about season 3's plot as well as the release date.

"House of Cards" Season 3 has a 2015 release date, which will consist of 13 episodes and downloadable via Netflix. Netflix will follow the format of releasing the entire season at once.

In an interview with Katie Couric, Willimon revealed that there will be "more philosophical turns" in season 3. This refers to Frank Underwood reaching his goal of being president. Willimon said that Underwood may struggle to find his life purpose."What do you do when you're on top of it? Who are you? You can no longer say, 'I'm the guy trying to reach the summit. Now, it had to have meaning. It used to be that the meaning was getting there," Willimon shared. Frank not being sure of himself is definitely something new.

Meanwhile, Doug Stamper, Frank's advisor, has not been confirmed to be returning in the new season. In an interview with Huffington Post, Michael Kelly shared what he knows about his character. "I don't know -- they haven't officially said. And with television contracts, as an actor, when you sign those contracts you sign for a long time. So technically they still own me, but I don't know yet."

Reports are making rounds on the Internet recently that "House of Cards" Season 3 will be released in February 2015.

Actor Kevin Spacey, who plays the role of Underwood, took to social media to confirm that production is already up and running for the show's third season.

"Thanks to all who came out for Clarence Darrow @oldvictheatre! What a blast it was to do. Now back to Washington for... well, you know," Spacey posted on his Twitter account in June.

"House of Cards" was originally packaged as a two-season series, but Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos wanted more from the show.

"I think if you look at the original 'House of Cards,' there was a natural third season, and we could go well beyond that," Sarandos said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

During the course of the interview, Willimon indulged the audience to some never-before confirmed spoilers about the show.

"House of Cards" season 3, will have 13 episodes, and, again, has a release date of February, 2015.
