Nexus 6 Release Date: New Android Mobile Rumored To Have New Google OS; LG Looks Out Of The Game; Will Motorola Step Up?

Nexus 6 release date: Too many rumors have been floating about the upcoming Nexus 6. Set to be released this October or November, Google is yet to release actual specs and features of its latest flagship model.

Reports are saying that the Nexus 6 could run the next Google operating system, the Android L. Earlier this year, the company announced at Google I/O that an OS is already in the oven. If this pushes through, there would probably new hardware to boot. With this, the price is expected to start around $349.

Google has already confirmed that it is fully committed to the Nexus 6, in spite of the talks about the looming Android Silver to replace the entire line. However, there is still a very important question left unanswered: who is the manufacturer? After its launch last May 2013, LG’s Nexus 5 received mixed opinions, but overall, it was rated by many as a stellar handset.

Now, rumor has it that Motorola is stepping into the picture. Two different reports said that LG has backed off during the creation of this year’s model. Also, Google is said to have recruited Motorola as its new hardware partner.

The Information reported: “Motorola is also getting a boost from working on an undisclosed phone-tablet project with Google—the type of initiative which, ironically, it could not pursue as a Google subsidiary due to concerns about favoring the house-owned Android vendor over others.”

“After Lenovo agreed to buy Motorola, Google’s Android unit began working with Motorola to develop a co-branded ‘Nexus’ phone that’s considered to be a ‘phablet,’ or phone-tablet, because of its large screen size, according to three people with knowledge of the matter,” the publication wrote.

Whatever Google’s next step is, the pressure is on for the Nexus 6 as it heads straight to battle against the Apple 6.
