‘The Big Bang Theory’ Cast Signs New Contract! Series Confirmed To Have 72 More Episodes As Fans Wonder About Sheldon And Amy’s Fate

It's officially wish granted for the main 'Big Bang Theory' cast members who just signed another three-year contracts with Warner Bros. Television. It is confirmed that Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, and Kaley Cuoco-Sweeting will be paid approximately $1 million per episode for the series.

The three 'Big Bang Theory' cast members previously asked for a raise. As per insiders, the negotiation is for an additional 72 episodes which means that the hit series will reach its 10th season.

Apart from the increased paychecks, the trio will similarly have larger stakes in the series after its original run on television. It can be remembered that in 2002, the 'Friends' cast members were similarly paid $1 million by the network for each episode.

Fans will have a reason to be pleased for the delayed production for 'Big Bang Theory' season 8 will begin on Wednesday.

While some might think that the demand of the cast members is unreasonable, show creator Chuck Lorre believes otherwise.

"It will be fine. Warner Bros. has done this before. Everybody should be very successful and happy and rich. They earned it. It's a great cast. Great cast. It's their time," he told E! News last month.

Now that the issues in contracts have been resolved, fans couldn't help but wonder about the show's story for its eight season. For the new season's pilot episode, fans will have to tune in whether Sheldon indeed took the train and left Amy.

At the recent Comic Con in San Diego, Parsons confessed that he himself wasn't informed about Sheldon and Amy's fate: "I know Sheldon left on a train last season, and my first question was: Are you writing me off, which got a guffaw from the writer I asked."

'The Big Bang Theory' will be returning on September 22.
