'Hell on Wheels' season 4 pilot episode is entitled 'Comanche Moon.' The season will be divided into two parts with the first ten episodes airing until October 4.

The series will then take a break to give way for the network's annual FrightFest programming. The airing of the final three episodes will then resume on November 8.

AMC's Joel Stillerman cannot hide his excitement for the show as affirmed by his interview with Zap2it: "We're excited about the stories we're telling in Season 4. The consequences of the stories we told last year will continue to reverberate throughout the season, and fans can expect to see some shocking events that will not only change the lives of our characters, but the landscape of the series as the railroad continues its relentless march westward."

New characters will be joining 'Hell on Wheels' season 4 including John Campbell (Jake Weber) and Martin Delaney (David Wilson Barnes).

'Hell on Wheels' season 4 episode 2 will be titled 'Escape from the Garden.' A teaser video for the episode reveals an intriguing conversation between "Doc" Durant (Colm Meaney) and Campbell. Assigned government official Campbell proposes the idea of levying the taxes for Durant's railroad venture which is something which Durant does not find appealing.

Showrunner John Wirth reveals what views can expect from 'Hell on Wheels' season 4: "This has always kind of percolated underneath, thematically, this idea of government versus big business. But we are really amping (it) up this year. So on a conceptual level, Season 4 is about a clash of the titans between Durant and Campbell for Cheyenne first and then the railroad."

As reported by Cowboys and Indians, Wirth previously admitted that the show would be welcoming both new faces as well as deaths: "As I've said to people before: This season, some people will die and some people will live, and I think we are going to have a really fantastic, dramatic, surprising season on Hell on Wheels."
