Jennifer Lawrence and ex-boyfriend Nicholas Hoult "split months ago," The Sun newspaper reports, suggesting rumors that they recently broke up are fake.

"Nicholas was pretty upset she opted out of seeing him as they rarely ever got to hang out," a source told the newspaper.

"They split on decent terms. They know that at the end of the year they'll be back on set together for the next X-Men film."

Jennifer Lawrence and boyfriend Nicholas Hoult have split because they weren't able to reconcile their schedules and are always busy.

"They just weren't together a lot, her life is a whirlwind," an unnamed told Us Weekly during a recent interview.

"They have gotten back together before, it just got to be too hard for now."

The on-again, off-again couple dispelled rumors of them being engaged and getting back together with recent break up revelations. Neither Jennifer Lawrence nor Nicholas Hoult has publically commented on the split since news of it surfaced.

"When we're busy, we agree to mutually ignore each other. Not completely, but neither of us gets mad when the other doesn't text back or call," Lawrence said during a recent interview, before the split, according to the Huffington Post.

 "Life's super-busy. Obviously you know what they're doing, and you trust them.

We're so young that it would almost be like if we lived in the same city, what would happen? We'd be living together. At least this way he's in the same boat as I am: We can go out and have our own lives and know that we have each other."
