Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Rumors: Three-Sided Display Finally Arriving To Android Phablet? Note 4 Tipped To Come In Two Versions As Well

For the past two years, we have been waiting for Samsung to unveil its 3-sided display which it showcased in an event eons ago. It looks like the long wait will finally be over, as the latest Samsung Galaxy Note 4 rumors claim that the famed display would be coming to the upcoming phablet.

According to a report by GSM Arena, a Korean website reports that Samsung's 3-sided displays have already begun mass production. Unfortunately, that 'mass' production could be limited given that the display is built in a plastic substrate that is reportedly difficult to work with.

So while the 3-sided display could be a feature of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 4, it is highly unlikely that this would become available in all markets where the Note 4 would arrive.

This brings us to the next rumor, which claims that the upcoming Android phablet would get two versions as well, just like the iPhone 6.

In the report, the first version could be the more basic one which includes Samsung's staple Super AMOLED screens. Meanwhile, the other version could sport the 3-sided display we've been talking about here.

Because the 3-sided display could not be mass produced to fit all of the Galaxy Note 4 devices which would be shipped next month, Samsung may have decided to keep the technology exclusive to Korea for the meantime.

This is not the first time Samsung will launch a Korea-exclusive smartphone in case the 'cooler' version of the Galaxy Note 4 does come initially in Samsung's home market.

Previous reports claim that the bigger 5.5-inch iPhone 6 would get better specs than the 4.7-inch version. If so, Samsung may be doing the same thing with its oversized Android-powered smartphone.

We'll see which of these rumors pan out to be true in the next couple of weeks.
