Sony Xperia Z3 Compact Release Date Is Now Official, New Sony Handsets, Devices, TVs, Camera Lenses To Launch On September 3 At The IFA

A couple of days after Samsung sent its invites to its Unpacked event in Berlin, it looks like Sony is all set as well to unveil its upcoming devices, and officially confirming the Sony Xperia Z3 Compact release date.

In the report by BGR, online retailer ePrice got a hold of the Japanese phone maker's invite for its press event at the IFA showcase in Berlin. And it looks like the Japanese maker has a lot in store for consumers on that day.

While the Sony invite did not have the exact products it would unveil, it gave readers a glimpse of what to expect, including a TV set, camera lens, probably a tablet, and most importantly new smartphones.

For the past couple of weeks, we have been treated to a number of leaked images of the upcoming Xperia Z3 flagship, which is tipped to boast a slightly slimmer frame than its predecessor, as well as more rounded edges as opposed to the Xperia Z2's box-type design.

Some of the specs which have been leaking all around seem uninspiring as they are closely similar to those of the Xperia Z2 which was launched at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year.

As for the Xperia Z3 Compact, its specs may resemble that of the Xperia Z3, but now with a Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, and not the midrange HD (1280 x 720) screen of the Xperia Z1 Compact.

Similar to the Xperia Z3's rumored specs, the Z3 Compact could boast a Snapdragon 801 chipset, 3GB of RAM, a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5GHz, and the Japanese maker's famed 20.7MP primary camera.

While these specs are certainly not mind-blowing, given the proven track record of Sony in the aesthetics department, the Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact siblings could still get the nod of most phone critics.
