Chloe Moretz Movie ‘Laggies’ Welcomed Keira Knightley As Replacement For Anne Hathaway; ‘Interstellar’ Cast Member Had To Back Out Due To Scheduling Conflicts

Chloe Moretz' movie 'Laggies' has welcomed Keira Knightley as replacement for Anne Hathaway who initially turned down the role because of conflicts with filming schedule.

In the upcoming Chloe Moretz' movie, Knightley will be playing the role of an adult who finds herself befriending a high school student (Moretz). The movie's official synopsis reads:

"Having spent her twenties comfortably inert, 28 year old Megan (Knightley) reaches a crisis when she finds herself squarely in adulthood with no career prospects, no particular motivation to pursue any and no one to relate to, including her high school boyfriend (Mark Webber). When he proposes, Megan panics and given an opportunity to escape - at least temporarily - she hides out in the home of her new friend, 16-year-old Annika (Moretz) and Annika's world-weary single dad (Sam Rockwell)."

'Laggies' already premiered at the Sundance Film Festival where it earned mixed reviews. Nonetheless, several film reviewers from Variety, Film.com, and Hollywood Reporter have given the film two thumbs up.

Hathaway was originally chosen for the lead role but needed to drop out for she was also filming sci-fi film 'Interstellar' with Matthew McConaughey. 'Iron Man's' Rebecca Hall also refused to take on the lead role. Like Hathaway, Hall encountered scheduling difficulties for she was then filming 'Transcendence' with Johnny Depp.

Chloe Moretz' movie with Keira Knightley premieres on October 24.

The 17-year-old beauty will likewise be seen in novel-based film 'If I Stay' this August 22. The rumored girlfriend of Brooklyn Beckham will be playing the role of Mia, a young cellist who got into a comatose state following a vehicular accident with her family.
