Upcoming LG Phones 2014: Korean Phone Maker Announces G2 Wrapped In G3 Clothing

Just a couple of days after launching the LG G3 Stylus, a midrange phablet, the Korean manufacturer again adds to its upcoming LG phones for 2014 with another variant of its company flagship.

According to a report by GSM Arena, the Korean manufacturer has just announced the LG G3 A, a flagship level device - if it were launched a year ago.

The phone packs the same stylish G3 finish which shouts premium from all sides, thin side bezels, and the auto laser focus which still keeps us intrigued.

Aside from the G3-esque features, the LG G3 A is basically a G2 in disguise. It boasts a 5.2-inch display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, 2GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 chipset, quad-core CPU running at 2.26GHz, Adreno 330 GPU for maximum graphics performance, and a 32GB of built-in memory.

Also on board is the 13MP primary camera which features optical image stablization plus (OIS+), a microSD card slot, LTE-A connectivity, a 2,160mAh battery, and Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat out of the box.

While we don't know yet how much this would cost, it would probably be priced in between the LG G3 and the G3 mini.

LG has been doing well in smartphone sales in its target markets, although Samsung still has the lead when it comes to its home market in Korea. That is why for the past months, LG has been mimicking the Samsung technique of launching several variants of its flagship phone.

In theory, the more smartphones you have on different levels of the market, the better chances you have in actually getting sales from all of them. However, Samsung's approach has not been that effective lately, now that it has given up its smartphone crowns to Xiaomi in China and Micromax in India.

We just wonder whether these recent developments will also affect LG's approach in phone development as well.
