Moto X Price Expected To Drop As Successor Comes In, Moto X+1 Tipped To Boast At Least 5" 1080 Display, Snapdragon 801, 12MP Shooter

For the past year, the Moto X price has been decent - it is not that high nor it is too low - and it certainly appeals to a market as a breath of fresh air in a suffocating industry where Apples and Samsungs are found everywhere.

Before its flagship device, Motorola has not been doing well in smartphone sales particularly in their target market wherein they launched a number of handsets in the past. But with the Moto X, they sure hit a sweet spot in the market.

Consumers liked the phone's rugged design, and while the phone only packs decent specs, they are enough to keep Android users preoccupied.

From this initial success, Motorola has acquired a recipe for success, and the manufacturer would surely use it for the upcoming flagship successor, dubbed the Moto X+1.

According to a recent report from GSM Arena, the Moto X+1 release date is closer to us than we think, and it shows after a leaked benchmark spec list surfaced, confirming some of the early speculations about the device.

Geekbench allegedly got introduced to the Moto X+1 and shows the phone running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, which certainly makes it high-end and an immediate competitor to other flagships in the market today.

Other specs of the device include a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5GHz, 2GB of RAM, and Android 4.4.4 Kit Kat out of the box.

While that may not be much info, at least it gives us a clearer picture of what to expect from the upcoming Motorola flagship - it would be a high-end smartphone that is now ready to contend for Android supremacy.

Aisde from the specs which appeared in Geekbench, some rumored specs of the Moto X+1 include a display that will range from 5-5.2 inches, with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, an unconventional 12MP primary camera with dual-LED flash, a decent 2,900mAh battery, and the customizable back covers which we first saw with the Moto X.

If you are still a fan of the previous flagship, expect lower prices in the coming weeks as the manufacturer prepares to launch its upcoming Moto X+1.
