Upcoming Huawei Phones 2014: Ascend P7 Successor With Sapphire Display Already Brewing? Chinese Brand Aims To Expand To Markets Outside Of Asia

Chinese brand Huawei has just launched its brand-new flagship, the Ascend P7 several weeks back and is already considered one of the top upcoming Huawei phones in 2014. However, as early as now, the company may already be working on a successor.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, the company's Device Chairman Yu Chengdong has revealed in an interview with the 21st Century Business Herald that Huawei is looking to create an Ascend P7 successor that uses the famed sapphire display as a screen replacement.

To prove his point, Chengdong reportedly brings out a Huawei Ascend P7 that boasts a sapphire display instead of the usual glass screens on the industry.

Sapphire displays became extremely popular in the smartphone world primarily after rumors went out that Apple will be using the material for the displays of its upcoming devices, including the two iPhones and even the new generation iPads.

It looks like among all of Apple's competitors in the mobile sphere, it is Huawei who will be taking the first big step in making sapphire screens a commonplace in the market.

In the report, the Huawei officer also noted that the Chinese brand is planning to expand its market outside of Asia. The company will begin setting up online stores overseas in order for interested consumers to be able to get the product directly from Huawei and not from a third-party seller.

Whether you believe it or not, Huawei currently ranks third in the world as far as smartphone sales are concerned, just behind Apple and Samsung. And the Chinese manufacturer has only been saturating the huge Asian market. If more Huawei phones would become available for countries outside of Asia, Huawei could see a significant increase in sales in the coming months.
