Derrick Rose News: 2011 MVP Is Definitely Back, But Is His New-Found Confidence And Explosiveness A Bad Thing For Chicago?

A lot of NBA and Chicago Bulls fans are always looking out for the latest Derrick Rose news, and while the 2011 MVP has been doing well with his stint at the Team USA training camp, we still can't help but wonder whether he can sustain such a high level of play in the 82 games of the regular season.

In previous reports, the coaching staff of Team USA as well as some of his teammates in the training camp have commented about Rose's gameplay.

Coach Mike Krzyzewski, together with assistant coach Tom Thibodeau highlighted the fact that Rose's explosiveness has come back and is certainly being showcased in his type of play to qualify for the USA Team that will head to Spain for the FIBA World Cup.

But while there is certainly a good reason to be happy with what Rose has gone through, it could spell a bad season for Chicago if he decides to play at this elite level.

Before last season began, the former MVP was excited to prove his doubters wrong and return to his pre-injury form. While his explosiveness and aggressiveness inside the court could certainly be seen, his shots were not falling and his turnovers have increased.

Many believed it was rust, and so they gave D-Rose more chances to prove himself.

However, that did not turn out to be successful as he sustained another season-ending injury.

With the level of play Rose has been giving in his stint with Team USA training camp, and possibly even during the FIBA games, one would wonder if the 25-year-old can keep it up until the upcoming NBA season.

Thankfully, Rose now has a lot of backup in terms of offense, which would help ease the load off his shoulders and make him more of a facilitator instead of a shot creator and scorer.

Chicago's hopes of returning to the Eastern Conference Finals, and possibly entering the NBA Finals for the first time since Jordan's era certainly rest on Rose's knees.
