How time flies! After a historic performance in the NBA Finals last year and retaining its key players during the free agency period, the latest San Antonio Spurs news brings us to the team's pre-season campaign that will kick off on October 8 in Berlin, Germany. 

If you are a die-hard Spurs fan and you're located on this side of the globe, then you better check whether you can still order tickets. 

The Spurs' pre-season games tips off in Berlin against Alba Berlin, then travel down south to Istanbul, Turkey to go up against Fenerbahce Ulker on October 11. The Popovich-headed squad will then return to the states to face the Suns in Phoenix on October 16. 

For NBA who still can't get enough of the Spurs-Heat rivalry, the defending champions will host Miami on October 18 for a rematch at the AT&T Center. The Kings and Hawks will also be paying the Spurs a visit for two more pre-season games. 

The Spurs' pre-season schedule ends on 24 with a showdown against state neighbor Houston on the road. 

San Antonio is coming off of one of its best years in the league after setting the best record of the season, and playing like a well-oiled machine against the best in the loaded Western Conference. 

Veteran's Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili certainly paved the way for the Spurs to nab its fifth championship in the last two decades. San Antonio has also molded 23-year-old Kawhi Leonard into a team player who will certainly be the franchise's face in the years to come. 

Of course, San Antonio's supporting cast should not be left unmentioned. Forward Boris Diaw and guard Patty Mills were considered surprises for Miami who prepared for the Duncan-Parker-Ginobili trifecta. LeBron did the usual damage he can inflict, but the Spurs limited his teammates' production. 

During the off-season the Spurs re-signed most of its players including Duncan, Parker, Diaw and Mills, as well as its long-time coach Gregg Popovich.
