No doubt X-Men:Days of the Future Past garnered lots of praises from critics, with its lovely 91% rating from Rotten Tomatoes, and had earned at least $741 million worldwide. This gargantuan success would be doubled when Blu-Ray and DVD copies will be released in movie stores opted to be done on October 14.

However, X-men fans' enthusiasm fuelled up as James Finn, the movie's EVP of Marketing Communications, posted on Twitter that the movie will release an extended version "coming next year".

Some sources said that fans should better wait for the Extended Version copy in 2015 so as to save money in buying the same copy twice. Meanwhile, fans can enjoy digital downloading of the movie starting September 23.

Speculations of what is to be seen in the Extended Copy have circulated online. The extended version is aimed at developing the subplots that have been neglected in the movie. For one thing, the disappointment felt by Rogue fans will now be satiated as the extended version is said to explore more of Rogue's heroism. Moreover, the new version might show more action of the mission involving Professor X, Magneto and Iceman.

Bryan Singer, Days of the Future past director, writer Simon Kinberg and X-men 2 writers Michael Doughtery and Dan Harris, once had this discussion of possible plots for the upcoming X-men Apocalypse. Their photo was displayed in Singer's Instagram.

Singer may still follow the original plot of the Age of Apocalypse comic book with Legion's (Omar Sy) ttime travel with a plan to kill Magneto (Fassbender) but he will end up landing on a time when Xavier and Magneto are still friends. A new time-line will then be created as Xavier died for Magneto's safety.

An expanded role is expected in the movie. It could also be that Singer may let Xavier die in the movie. Meanwhile, the Four Horses Nightcrawler, Mystique, Colossus, and Blink will still be there as well as other characters like Hugh Jackman, Jennifer Lawrence, and Nicholas Holt.
