The Sims 4 Release Date, News And Updates: No More Game Launcher For TS4; Players To Open Game Via Origin, Also Available In Offline Mode

The official The Sims 4 release date nears!

As The Sims 4 release date becomes more imminent, new information about the game arrives. For instance, one of tweets from a Sim Guru revealed that The Sims 4 will no longer have a game launcher similar to what players use in TS3.

Instead of a launcher, The Sims 4 players will be able to run the game via Origin. The actual Twitter post is below:

The Sims 4 release date is slated for September 2, announced by executive producer Rachel Franklin during EA's presentation at E3 2014. Announcing The Sims 4 release date, she said, "Our fans will be able to experience why we believe The Sims 4 is the best life simulation game ever."

For more The Sims 4 news and updates, SimsVIP.com cited a recent preview from Game Revolution, which revealed that players will be able to unlock places in TS4 by doing certain in-game actions. Two of the places that The Sims 4 players can unlock are "Crick Cabana" and "Forgotten Grotto."

SimsVIP asked @SimsGuruGraham to further clarify this and he said:

@SimsVIP They're what I was alluding to in your E3 interview about how what you think of as a "rabbithole" can work completely differently now. It gives us the flexibility to do many cool things that wouldn't have been possible in Sims 3. I was wondering if anyone at Creator's Camp would find them :) I'll leave details about discovering and exploring them for players to share though.
